I only smoke a cigar every once in a while, so I'm not exactly a refined nor picky smoker and I mostly just smoke whatever's the cheapest they have in humidor at the liquor store which is usually a R&J or Macanudo for like ~$8. I'd smoke them more often if they were cheaper.

Any reqs for a decent, light cigar that comes in cheaper than $8? Something in the realm of what would be the "Costco Vodka" of cigars if you understand that analogy.

You have to get specific seeds for the poppies that actually produce the opium, as the vast majority of varieties sold in the US are selected such that you can't use them for harvesting opium.

While it is a very addictive substance, I've always had really good self control about these sort of things and relegate them to a minimum of monthly enjoyment, sometimes far longer. I'm the same way with smoking pipe tobacco, about once a month I set a day to enjoy smoking a pipe and reading. I don't say this to endorse use, more so that you need to be honest and realistic with yourself when enjoying highly addictive substances.

You would probably need to eat a lot of leaves. From what I have seen the majority of cases of nicotine poisoning in humans was in small children accidentally ingesting vape fluid. Even then there is a wide disparity in what is considered to be a lethal dose - Some studies say 0.1mg/kg of body is lethal but other studies place that much higher at 6.5 to 13mg/kg.
Nicotine content in a tobacco leaf is about 0.3-3%. The larger tobacco leafs are about 0.018KG so that would put the nicotine content at 0.54g per leaf. Assuming 9g/kg is a lethal dose, that means a 75kg human would need to eat roughly 1250 large tobacco leaves to receive a lethal dose.

So I need a French/German/Dutch/Austrian/Spanish/etc. site which ships outside the country. Unfortunately, I think krauts are banned from shipping tobacco outside Germany, which is super unfortunate, since my favorite snuff brands are German (Poschl and Bernard).

Anyone else get stuck with bad pipe smoking results from packing too loosely? Seems like every guide makes a point of telling you to pack gently. Tried packing tighter, aiming for a draw like a nice drawing cigar. Helps to slow down draw speed, and makes it easier to keep lit. Smoking some MacBaren Virginia no. 1 tonight.

>> No.16270661

>>16270327
Test your draw when packing - Ideally you want the resistance to be similar to drinking a milkshake through a straw. Any packing gently is different from packing loosely - you want to pack gently to make sure you have an even distribution of tobacco. That is the reason for one of the more popular methods is packing in 3 additions - the first you basically gravity fill the bowl, the second you apply light pressue in packing and the third you apply medium pressure.
You really only want to pack more loosely if you are packing a flake tobacco without fully rubbing it out or a cube cut..

because if you start out with a loose pack, all you have to do to to tighten the draw is tamp. If you start out with a tight pack and need to loosen it then you have to empty the pipe and start over by - packing looser.

problem is instead of winning under 10% of bids it looks like I'm gonna win 40%.

Literally not one person, not a single one, in this entire thread has said anything about flavors or tastes. It's been a nonstop circle jerk over this nebulous descriptor of overall "quality" and pricepoints. Which, and the few braincells you have might actually be able to see this coming, has nothing to do with food and cooking. Lol.

I know it's been discontinued, it's not THAT great though bros. But then again I might finish the tin in the next few weeks and ruminate forlornly on what a shame it is that it no longer exists...

From the English aromatics that I've tried, I find that the latakia pretty much overpowers whatever flavor they have added. Or the latakia is somewhat rounded out by the additive.
The smell is evident in the baccy and even in the burning (I was once complimented on the smell of my Edward g Robinson smoke). But smoking EGR is just an average English to me.
The Frog Morton's Cellar is a nice latakia smoke, but the whiskey is incredibly minimal (to me anyway). There's reviews of people tasting vanilla and bourbon and all types of shit in it. Subjective I guess...
