So quick read of that article shows that:
Haddock, the main fish used in 'fish and chips', is mostly sourced from domestic UK fishing (64.9%), followed by Iceland (18.1%), with China only providing 12.2%.
Cod, the traditional but more expensive fish for 'fish and chips' which you usually specifically request now, was mostly sourced from Iceland (30.1%), then secondly China (19.8%), with 13.3% sourced domestically.
So no, as most fish and chips is haddock, it's mostly UK caught fish you're eating at the chippy, and Iceland provides far more than China does.

Take one of them to the UK and it will quickly burn out. But over here, running on the power rating they were designed for, they will work just the same as the 240v models do in Britian. It's the amperes that drive the kettle, not just the volts.

That said, all houses in the US have 120 and 240 volt supply, we run the water heaters, clothes dryers and kitchen stoves on 240 here.
