Shrimps have meat, flesh, muscle tissue....the same exact tissue we eat from birds, mammals, fish, etc.

"Bugs" as it were, have no such tissue in their body, they are exoskeletons full of liquidy goopy insides, which generally....such things are considered disgusting to humans, with many people even having aversions to any slimey, goopy food such as egg yolks or oysters. Regardless, one must be of.....remedial intelligence to assume that just because two types of animal share features such as beady eyes and multiple limbs that they must be the same thing inherently. This same logic would be to say that an eel is not a fish, but a snake.

Shrimps have some meat on them, and you don't eat the shell.
You expect someone to extract the meager amount of meat from crickets or ants? They will be ground up to paste, exoskeleton and all. The carapace isn't exactly nutritious or very appetizing, yet you literal bugmen will eat it with a smile since some "scientist" got paid off to claim it's healthy.
Eating bugs are for subhumans and starving slaves, any man with even a hint of pride in him would never eat bugs.

Crustaceans are not bugs, they're not even insects. True bugs are are a specific type of insect called the order Hemiptera, consisting of shield bugs, assassin bugs, aphids, froghoppers etc.
Crustaceans and insects are both arthropods though so maybe use that as the new meme buzzword

Going by "True Bugs" excludes grasshoppers and locusts, the most common insects used in "eat the bugs" memes, to say nothing of cockroaches and arachnids. "Bugs" in the context of this meme usually paints a picture of (land) arthropods, which can easily be expanded to aquatic ones by bored shitposters when people don't articulate their point.

You ask ten people to define "bugs" and you'd get ten different answers, likely with little overlap with the taxonomic group defined as "True Bugs". Common sense could easily include crustaceans as bugs using people's own definitions/explanations against them.

>Common sense could easily include crustaceans as bugs using people's own definitions/explanations against them.
That's not what common sense is
Your point basically boils down to saying the definition of specific terms should be made more vague and broad to accommodate people that have no knowledge of the subject.

>"Eww, I won't eat bugs!"

>ok, shrimp and lobster also meet that criteria, yet you still eat them
>"no that's not what I meant!"

Is this likely to change anyone's opinion? No, because then they'd likely just add "and they don't live in the water!", but it's a valuable lesson on the importance of properly explaining your stance on an issue. Bugs as defined by the average person is an incredibly nebulous concept. If anything I would prefer them to use more specific language, though I only really care about this issue to get a rise out of people irl and (You)s online.
