i never steal unless i'm buying something else. i have an autistic entitlement about paying for things that i need for reasons that i dont have control over, so usually i steal tools, medicine and first aid stuff, all of which are manufactured for next to piss nothing anayway and sold at like a 2700% markup

Back when i worked at a grocery store we were asked to keep reports on suspect customers. Specifically ones with mental illness. Every time “one of them” came through our line we were asked to call a number to keep them updated on what they bought.
Apparently this was the status quo for just about any establishment where money exchanged hands. They really liked to keep an eye on a certain list of people.

Ah, makes sense. It pretty much was a gang since friends working at other places had the same list of people, we’d all report on these people like a gang

I used to steal packages of meat using the self checkout literally every week. Press two of them close together, slide, get the fuck out of there. I’d do it for nice shit too, like lamb chops. Eventually we moved and my new place doesn’t have a self-checkout.
They only got up my ass about it once I mustered up all the autism in my being to come off like a victim. If this is OP the. I suggest you don’t go back there

They probably did if they were keeping accurate inventory, I was doing it regularly for like a year so I’m assuming I got out of there before they decided to lay down the law. The only time I got questioned was towards the end of my stay there.

Why fake scan and not just leave? Idk how many whole hams, turkeys, chickens, etc I’ve just walked out of kroger with. I’ve never had anyone confront me or make it seem like they know. I wouldn’t doubt if they know someone is stealing but I think they’re honestly too stupid to know who. (My local kroger has all of the “special Ed” people working the front)

i suggest OP literally never return to that store, as there might be cops waiting for him unironically, two stories i have

>wageslave at target at 19
>okay job overall
>target is in a very affluent area
>asset protection man is very serious about people stealing eggs in this top 50 richest cities of america location
>daydreaming at lunch when he is talking to someone else
>talks about how stores will amass large amounts of evidence against repeat shoplifters
>even work with competitors like walmart if they can build a case together
>wait until they have enough and basically sting the shoplifter next time they come in

>few years later
>wageslave in a warehouse
>talk to my coworker who is on probation
>apparently for months he thought he had it figured out
>would go to walmart every week or two and put in hundreds of dollars worth of beer and wine in a car

Hold on, do you mean to say she isn't wearing a facial mask? I suggest you immediately contact the authorities about this transgression, or I will be left with no choice but to report you both, as you are an accessory to this crime. Please take this seriously, as I have friends in the F.B.I. (Federal Bureau of Investigation), and they aren't known to take kindly to criminals. Thank you for your cooperation.
