This pdf has a recipe that basically amounts to doing a crab boil but with cicadas... not a bad plan but that made me think, they're kind of more on scale with shrimp. So assuming that we can cook the land bugs like we do the water bugs, maybe something like cicada gumbo would be good.

I see cicadas every year. It takes 17 years for them to emerge but there is a new batch ready every year where I live.
