I used to drink 3.5 liters of everclear (195-proof grain alcohol) every week. I've been there. But sitting in your bedroom crying into your beer isn't gonna make you feel any better. When I was depressed (and I was for a long time) none of that helped me, it probably would have pissed me off and convinced me that no one really 'got it'. The unfortunate reality is that the only thing that can pull you out of it is yourself. If you have friends, family, or a therapist it's a lot easier. The only reason I'm alive is because of chance, and looking back on it now if I had gone to a therapist and earnestly poured my heart out I never would have gotten close to the point of suicide. There really is no other option. Either you talk to someone (doesn't have to be a therapist) or you an hero.

I quit stone cold for a month or more then went out for a couple drinks and knew immediately I had to swear off it entirely. The reason you need to stop now is you will literally lose a decade of your life such as I did. One day you will wake up and only have regrets and what’s more, nothing to show for the time spent wasted
