lastman is a about a mysterious man outsider called richard aldana who comes to team up with a kid called adrian to win a fighting tournament. The art style is very loose and fluid making the fight scenes really entertaining to look at. There's also some nice panel layouts and some cool things they do with color tones. Overall its a great comic where its obvious the people involved actually care about taking advantage of the medium to push the story forward

Actually it's the other way around.

Devil Man was an early Nagai anime under a different name that he redid years later once he got famous. The manga ran first before the cartoon, in part because the cartoon had to be completely changed from the manga to sidestep the graphic violence and planned downer ending.

Ryo turns out to be Lucifer Morningstar and in love with Akira/Devilman. Oh and Ryo has a vagina along with a dick and he also outs Akira as Devilman.

The neighborhood goes apeshit and kills Akira's girlfriend and family and Akira basically goes Devilman and kills everyone in retaliation and then fights Ryo as the demon apocalypse begins.

Oh and one of the later sequels, ultimately reveals that pretty much ALL of the Devil Man remakes are real, even Lady Devilman and that Ryo/Lucifer basically kills Akira every time in their final battle. And every time Akira dies? God shows his face to laugh at Lucifer for crying over his grief for being made to kill the man he loves. Then God resets the timeline (hence why all of the Devil Man books are canon, due to time loop) with Ryo being the only one who remembers the previous loops, and it being explicitly stated that Akira was created by God SOLELY so that Lucifer would fall in love with him, so that Lucifer would try and fail to seduce Akira to the dark side and be forced to kill him. FOR ALL ETERNITY, as punishment for Lucifer turning on God and rebelling.

Dante anime is pretty bad but not terrible, and a few fun nods to the '72 anime throughout.

The first violence jack ova and second were both kind of bad but still a good watch, the third, evil town, is legit kino and very underrated.

'72 anime is some of the best monster of the week you'll find.

Worst thing would be the devilman vs. mazinger z film at the end of the day.
