Meal kits are probably a good idea for someone who doesn't know how to choose produce or cook but is interested in cooking.

It's a good idea for like, a parent to buy their kid in College. Deliver once a week for 5 days worth of food, knowing that they're eating decently. Especially if the kid never cooked at home and was used to having their meals catered.

This, but also beginners who don't want to buy a whole bottle of some moderately exotic seasoning they'll leave tucked in their cupboards for eternity.

This is why I buy kits. You pay a little bit more but essentially 0 waste. Feels good man.

I find meal kit extremely dumb. Its paying a premium for nothing really. My father teached me how to cook, and you should too. Also don't be stupid if you live in a small rural town buy local. If you live in a city take a week end and visit relatives in the country its cheap and you will get great food and vegetable. Im a euro so i don't have to take a plane to see my family sorry americans.

There was no time for that he spent all of his days shovelling food down his gullet.

They're overpriced but ideally it gets people interested in cooking for themselves.
It should be a stepping stone realistically.
Once you have enough experience you should be able to take some leisure time and plan your meals before going to the store.

If your kid cannot autonomously cook for themselves at college-age, then you have failed as a parent. Not only will this make their cost of living much more expensive from ordering or taking out food, but it will make them have a harder time finding a partner and feeding their children.
