Pecorino and parmesan don't taste the same, and pecorino is saltier.
This isn't some wine/coffee/beer snob bullshit where they differ in some subtle way that no one actually notices. They taste totally different and aren't even made of the same kind of milk.

I just tried real pecorino yesterday and I gotta say that it really differs. I have a hard time differentiating between grana padano and parmesan, but pecorino really hast that goat-milk taste and is more soft, I think due to higher fat content (didn't really check it, tastes more fatty)

If you think they taste the same you either need to get your taste buds checked or to stop buying prepackaged shit. Grana padano also isn't the same as parmesan, it's not as tasty.
