Submerge for 15-20 min in case of iceberg lettuce, cabbage, and leafy greens in general
5-10 min for fruits and vegetables.

A tip of mine: after this bath, rinse it, and submerge in a solution of 1 cup white vinegar per gallon of water for 2-5 min to clean and remove the smell of the bleach. Rinse again after.
You now have sanitized vegetables you can eat raw.
Make a dressing with 1 part soy sauce 1 part olive oi, and sprinkle some grated parmesan over it for maximum flavor.

It's complicated. My parents are boomers so to them veggies are literally just mirepoix, broccoli, and corn end of list. Basically I was an extremely picky eater growing up and I only started getting into healthier eating in high school. But a few years later my seasonal allergies turned into Oral Allergy Syndrome. I suddenly was allergic to things I had always ate like apples, and it was pretty scary. I never had anaphylaxis but I have an epipen now because I get throat tightness. It's been about eight or so years since then and I'm much less anxious now so I'm trying foods again.
