Doesn't washing veg remove anything from them? Is it not better to boost your immune system by eating stuff raw?

>> No.15743612

You don't get immune to chemicals on the fruit you dumb subhuman

>> No.15743616

>boost your immune system
is a meme
pesticide residue, wax, preservatives etc. on the outside of vegetables does nothing to improve immunological function

>> No.15743638

Presumably these things are getting watered in order to grow in the first place so I don't really see the point.

People used to drink little bits of snake venom to develop resistance to poison. Historically it makes sense.

you don't boost your immune system by eating toxic chemicals

>> No.15743924

I know a guy who used to eat nasty old and shit covered food off the floor all the time and would say "it's good for the immune system" as everyone looked at him disgusted
He's trans now not sure if that matters.

So? Why do you need to be immune to pesticides? You planning on inhaling a bunch of it? At least with a snake it would make sense if your job involves you walking around in a place where there are a lot of snakes. I doubt most of the people buying tomatoes is planning a trip down to the farm.

The dirt, bugs, fecal matter and parasites, yes.

>> No.15745084

I knew a vegan who never washed his produce. he said the dirt on them had microorganisms that produced the vitamins he needed that other people get from meat.

I never bothered fact checking him because lol vegans but I could kind of buy it, you don't need a whole lot of shit like b12 so maybe eating dirt works out sometimes.

Wanna rephrase that into a more valid question? Otherwise no, “not washing vegetables” does not remove anything from them. Because you aren’t doing anything to them.

I'm not a doctor so I can't comment on your immune "system" but I have worked in a produce department and I can tell you without a doubt you should wash your fucking vegetables.
I short bath in cold water and a splash of white vinegar will most times do the trick.
This was your last warning

I have never washed my produce unless it had some visible dirt or bugs on it. And I live. You're all pussies.

>> No.15747369

I don't wash my vegetables because whatever invisible boogeyman chemicals you guys are talking about don't have any taste or noticable effects on my body. I don't notice it, so it might as well not exist. And no, I've never gotten sick.
