Lifting weights is a surrogate for manliness because it is inherently purposeless. It's healthier to do cardio so health isn't a purpose either. I think some weight training is beneficial if you don't normally have much physical activity otherwise. Having some more muscle mass does make you healthier, not just stronger, especially as you get older since older people with less muscle mass are much more likely to be injured. But you only really need to do moderate weight training for that and to even get some physical strength which can be useful in normal daily activities. Thinking you need to use something heavy enough to put you on the verge of vomiting and passing out or being injured is probably more of a reflection of doing it for mental reasons rather than physical. It's almost like a form of self-harm.

I grow a wide variety of peppers to use in cooking. Making fermented hot sauce is fun, and homemade sauce is a great gift. Nothing like eating chicken wings that have been doused in your own creation from the garden. And it helps you enjoy the peppers year round. Absolute king shit is when you strain the fermented mash out before bottling, dehydrate the mash, and turn it into smoked chili salt.

Chaozhou style garlic chili oil is my favorite condiment to make with my Hainan Yellow Lantern peppers, the main variety I grow. But my peri peri, 7 pot, Bahamian Goat, trinidad scorpion, and other peppers are amazing for sauces.

I want to shit on the consoymers who collect all the superhot sauces, but they're going to be my customers when I get a business going this year, so I will refrain. I will say that extract based sauces, like "Da Bomb" and similar, are pretty stupid and taste terrible.
