I just wish it was all basic recycled cardboard--not even bleached or dyed white. What is the point of wasting the money and resources on dying or coloring the packaging? Marketing? Does the appearance of the box your food comes in actually affect the return rate of customers?

This was so great.
I am baffled by the sheer ingenuosity of the sauce compartment design. It's a jet-age design reminescent of spaceships and chrome car tails for people who grew up with dreams of being astronauts, doctors and artists. Can you imagine driving up to McD's in your Chevy at the height of the Nixon Depression, running your fingers on those delicious, soft plastic boxes while a quintessentially American soft pop/easy listening rock song plays on the radio?

I weep for the ethereal beauty of the past, sacrificed on the altar of Californian corporate design.

Back then, genuine happiness and sunshine was found in everyday life.
Today, they paint cheerful pictures on Mickey-D's boxes because you can't find any cheerfulness inside your own self. The soul has left the body, the ghost in the shell has evaporated.

Back then, even the run-of-the-mill customers of Mickey-D's knew how to read, they had an attention to details that new customers don't have or have forgotten - there was no need for flashy, descriptive drawings and fluorescent fonts. No, they could just read what was on the package! Not anymore.
