Kirin, Sapporo, and Asahi are the “big 3”, but they don’t actually export. In North America, those beers are brewed in California & Canada (and some Sapporo comes from Vietnam)

Orion is only brewed in Okinawa, so even in Japan it’s more expensive than the others. But it’s my favorite hot-weather beer, which makes sense as it’s made by people who live on a practically-tropical hot/humid island.

IPAs are basically the crutch of the shitty beer brewer. It's why ALL the fucking crap microbrews have a ton of IPAs, because they disguise their shit recipes by just dumping a ton of hops in there.
It's the beer equivalent of drowning a meal in hot sauce because you can't cook for shit.
Since all the shitty microbrews have IPAs, all the hipsters who want to drink shitty microbrews to be 'unique like everybody else' drink IPAs.

People who actually like beer drink dark beers, lagers, ales. Basically anything but IPAs. Which by the way, the entire purpose of creating was to disguise spoiled beer. Which is what it's still used for today.

This meme opinion makes me laugh every time it gets parrotted. The idea that hops are used to cover up mistakes in the brewing process is at least 20 years out of date, older than the average 4chan poster.
Try brewing a NEIPA with no prior knowledge and a fuckload of Citra hops. It's an intensely unforgiving and technical process, unlike the brewing of dark beers where the roasted malt flavour overpowers any oxidation or infection. You know nothing about brewing.

Problem is that where I live (oregon) people think ipa's are some sort of god-given gift and there's a reputation to overrate shit that's hoppy. Fortunately with this beer I don't think it's trying to impress anyone, and delivers a nice, refreshing aftertaste for those patient enough to enjoy a nice, fairly light beer.

Newky brown is awful, maybe at one point it was a passable brown ale but these days it just tastes like dirty water.

every day this week I have bought a 6pack of miller lite and slammed it between getting off work and starting dinner.
I've had worse habits. And it seems manageable enough. but it's throwing my "balance" off. I've had times of more desperate compulsion but I am bored and have been enjoying the taste.

The best beer for the money you can buy in the American south imo. The incredibly easy drinking of a lager and the roasted malt goodness of a porter combines beautifully. Truly the patricians choice of gas station beer.

My dad drinks a 6 of natural light and 2 tall boys each and every night and drinks throughout the day as he can at work. Been doing it for as long as I’ve known him and I’m 30+. It’s manageable but it’ll catch up to you eventually.

yeah I would hope not to make it an ingrained habit like that but life is so boring I've hardly got any reason to stop. I go to sleep sober, at least, bac aside, not feeling buzzed. I just have a bad history with substances and choosing to do this nights in a row, well, I'm not "worried" in the sense of real anxiety over it, but I do acknowledge it as a habit I ought not continue indulging long-term.
probably gonna have fried chicken and cheesefries tonight.

before it was "hipster" beer it was "redneck, hillbilly, trailertrash" beer. when certain postindustrial neighborhoods of large cities started getting colonized by college-graduates-on-food-stamps, the shitty low-effort bars that opened to cater to them would serve these cans as the cheapest thing you could order without getting kicked out by the tattooed-student-waitress-in-a-band-t-shirt who hoped you would buy an IPA and tip her well.

The entire "PBR is for hipsters" thing comes from one really good marketing executive. He would go from hipster bar to hipster bar and use reverse psychology to make them think it's cool to drink. This alone saved the brewery from bankruptcy and made it more popular than it ever was before. It's brilliant marketing really, especially when you consider it tastes exactly like any other macro American light lager.

I'm a Norf lad that drinks bags of cans so I'm not really into poof craft beer, but I got some of these And Union beers for my birthday and they're alright tbqh. It's a Bavarian company I think.

But yeah, just sensibly flavoured beers with a little more hop, none of this retarded chocolate mint or grapefruit flavour or whatever

Deeply retarded analogy. Salt has one specific flavour and property; there are countless varieties of hops that have unique and varied aromas and flavour profiles. A far better comparison would be to herbs and seasoning in general, each of which brings its own properties to the dish. Which seasoning and how much to use is highly subjective. As with many others who don't understand what hops actually do, you seem to have confused "hoppiness" with bitterness.
