Cooking is a woman's skill comes from the 10's-70's of the last century, where women were required to cook in house while husband's or brothers were off at war. Men still cooked in the past, but it was emphasized that women should cook because men didn't have the proper skills after the war. It stopped becoming common place throughout the 70's-10's when women's empowerment became the only acceptable slogan to be tossed at relatively useless women. Women can't really cook nowadays because they had to go through college and work more than ever before.

I'm from rural poland and butchering animals as well as chopping down wood is a unisex task as it doesn't requiere that much pper body strength that a woman would have a difficulty with it. It's usually even done by teens.

The person which is most of the time at home (which is naturally the woman) will cook. Only in modernity and as a profession it's seen as a manly job, because guess what, high stress and no possibility to have a proper famil with it, doesn't invite too many women in it, when they already cook at home. You'll therefore find more women in pattiserie stuff.

My father used to take me hunting when I was 8. I bagged my first deer at the age of 11 with a gun, and took down my first goat at the age of 15 with a bow.
