Has anyone here seriously tried this? What was it like?

>> No.15531277

I had an early batch when they were starting 5-6 years back. At that point it tasted of gruel. Ive had worse, but it was bleak. My roommate buys it now, I hope it is better, but I definitely look at it and judge her a little bit for her nihilism.

never tried the premix, but years ago I moved to the city and someone on craigslist was giving away a couple months' worth of the powder that was nearing expiration. it was pretty gross, tasted like frankenchemicals, soymilk with a whiff of fish-oil. which is basically what it is, and I don't actually mind soymilk in itself.
I didn't have very much of the stuff and it was a struggle when I did try to use it. probably 10-12 weeks' worth of the powder just went to waste, and that's even with me handing bags out to anyone who was ever curious about it.

I meant to mention: Fackin' love huel though. Much better execution of the concept, but I haven't tried their premixes either.

I used to really like the coffee one.

Was a good quick breakfast when I was late for work

I feel like someone would only have this if they were dieting or something, I can't imagine this being "the food of the future".

>> No.15531319

My roommate bought a bunch and didn't like them so he gave them to me. I thought they tasted okay, especially the coffee ones. But good enough tasting to make me buy them. They had a thick consistency and you could taste all the vitamins but it was also sweet enough to be palatable

5-6 years a go the guy I tried it from was on the autistic spectrum and never wanted to cook again. He just wanted to spend more time coding, he literally didnt care. My current roommate mostly eats trader joes microwave food. She also doesnt care, but in a completely different way

1. frankenstein was the doctor
2. this is a cuckservative buzzword that animal agriculture shills use constantly

Some people have fucked up olfactory and/ or gustatory senses, and thusly have no real attachment to food beyond it being fuel. Other people are soulless robots, for whom there is no joy to be had in this world, only mindless efficiency.

That's the slowest thing I've ever seen. Why even bother if it takes 30 seconds to open.

Tasted it once for the heck of it, tastes like chalky thick liquid. Not worth ever getting for real

as I recall, the lids for these bottles are unusually strong. Malnourished soibois need mechanical assistance for their next hit.

I had the powder, once. Long story short, clearly for bug people.
It begins with an overpowering starch flavor, as if you took a fat mouthful of maltodextrin, the stuff you have in mass gainer shakes. Its like mass gainer, except instead of gaining mass and feeling nourished, it immediately feels like you're only taking in something that will give you a super brief whiff of energy. It somehow reacted with my insulin to where I just felt like energy was gassing through me, and that I wasn't nourished by it. Like eating a piece of candy over a slice of bread. I felt unsatisfied, and to be frank, really strange. What was worse though, was the smell. The flavor of maltodextrin, a fake vanilla smell, and a vague fat free milk flavor seemed to vent like steam through my pores. I'm not at all sure scientifically what was happening but what was for sure was my body was purging it from my system as fast as it could. My breath smelled like it for hours after I brushed. My pores and bo smelled like it for hours too. Exactly like how I process alcohol. Felt weird all the next day.
Real shame. I got a giant box for free and was pretty stoked with the idea of saving some grocery dough.

It's like a healthier version of a microwave meal. A small lunch in a bottle. That's it.

Huel is a much better version of the concept; that stuff actually feels really filling and good for you
