american school lunch is preparation for the slop corporations will be shoveling into their fat american mouths for the rest of their life.
It's a type of propaganda, if you feed the american shit garbage as a child, they will not only see it as normal in adulthood, but will also expect and even crave the shit.
It's amazing americucks are not only obese, but are obese off of literal trash.

That was an Obama zoom zoom phenomenon. While no institutionalized food is good, before that schools kids were at least given totinos level pizza, and the option to eat literally nothing but french fries and ketchup if they so choosed. But beyond that, it's fucking tax payer funded food. Do you expect that to be spent on ribeye and avocado for tens of millions every day? It was, is, and always will be cheap as fuck nutrition.

By junior year we were driving down the street to pick up Taco Bell or snacks from 7-11. It was a closed campus but nobody really cared. Every once in a while the hall monitors would patrol the student parking lot to scare off the weaker brood, but we were chads and just drove by them and they didn’t say shit.

I got busted 1 time but it was only because I parked in the auto shop parking lot which was behind the teacher’s lot and one day a Vice principle whose son hated me (and therefore she hated me too) decided to flex and give me a Saturday school. No regrets.

I forget what we actually called them but I didn’t want to spend 30 minutes thinking about it so I went with hall monitors. They’re the people who bust students ditching class and break up fights. When I got detention I was escorted by one to the principle’s office. When we were caught walking out the back to smoke cigarettes they escorted us around the campus (and let us go when the period bell rang and we could disappear into the crowd).

I went to a kind of ghetto high school.

Looking back on it they didn’t have any real power, were basically just there to scare kids into behaving. They couldn’t question us leaving because it’s entirely possible we were 18 and legally allowed to leave, or we just didn’t have classes after lunch. All you had to do was befriend one of them and you could basically get away with whatever you wanted.

You tards blaming poor quality american school lunches on corporations have no clue what you're talking about. The schools have all been defunded to the point where they can't afford to staff and manage kitchens, so all the food has to be outsourced from food production companies. The current reimbursement rate for a school lunch is only about $3.25. What exactly are you cheapass american fucks expecting a food production company to be able to prepare, cook, and ship in to your schools for $3.25? Turns out that the school comptroller he tried to paint as a villain who didn't care about children's health was actually a nutritionist who had spent years setting up a farm-to-table program with local growers to provide fresh vegetables and meat to the school district while supporting farmers in the state while Jamie's plan involved trucking in organic produce from out of state at unsustainable cost and whose meals didn't actually meet the minimum nutritional requirements for children.

Here's how the food is in Finland. Most common foods seemed to be soups, casseroles, sauce + potato/rice/pasta and limited quantity of discreet meat products i.e patties or fish fingers. A fuckton of salad always too.

people continue eating this until the end of uni so they usually grow to be pretty happy with it. It's pretty bland taste wise, and macro nutrition is often carb heavy/low protein low fat. Sauces are notoriously calorie sparse, coming at often around 90 kcal/100 grams.

From what I remember, my high school had a small version of this. There were 2 main lines for the "hot meals" which was whatever the cafeteria had prepared for the day - things like processed chicken tenders and choice of 2 sides, spaghetti with toast (that was literally white bread with butter), or motherfucking Bosco sticks.

Then there was a "convenience" line that had soft pretzels, premade sandwiches and chips, candy bars, and nachos and cheese. Then we had a hallway of vending machines.

For awhile, we also had a make your own salad and taco bar. Then they realized kids were loading up the boxes and paying the bear minimum since the school was stupid and didn't have scales to charge per pound. So the school quickly changed to premade salads and swapped the tacos to soups.

Of course, you could always bring your own lunch which I did from time to time. If you were a senior, you could have your parents sign a form that allowed you to get lunch off campus. There was a great dinner across the street, a chinese place, Little Ceasars, and a grocery store next door so it expanded options.

I also took nutrition/cooking classes my junior and senior years which was either before or right after lunch. So I'd eat whatever we cooked in class.

A lot of kids would just buy snacks from vending machines.
They instituted nutritional requirements for the snacks in my state, but they were a joke because basically as long as something healthy was offered in combination with the unhealthy shit it was OK. So they had to start selling carrot sticks along side Twix and funyn rings and shit.

I went to jail for a day for violating a restraining order from a girl whomst I made rape threats against and it's sad how much the food reminded me of school food. When I got out I missed decent food so much I had 4 hamburgers, half a pizza and 4 cups of rice. I puked 7 times that night.

1. That's not a bad meal.
2. It's a school, not a restaurant.
3. If you don't like it, your parents can always pack a lunch (and if they couldn't, you could have always packed your own lunch).
The only problem is that schools in America charge for lunch, and really abuse the children of parents who can't (or won't) pay for said lunches.
>>15496787
Those aren't real school lunches. They were prepared by professional chefs, and in no way represent the countries they claim to represent in terms of quality. Hell, you can tell this because they all use the exact same tray, which makes zero sense that every country on this planet would use the exact same tray (pro-tip: they don't, Korea uses metal trays for school lunches for instance). It's ultimately dumb because what schools serve vary from school to school and even government administration to government administration. Yes, the Obama administration put in guidelines that turned school lunches into a nightmare in an attempt to "fight obesity" (which failed).

Obviously they're not real school lunches unless you thought someone flew all over the world grabbing school lunches so they could assemble a photo collage. The actual unreality is that they're not indicative of lunches fed to students in those nations at all. That photo series was actually part of an ad campaign by a restaurant chain, Sweetgreen, to pitch their nutritional consulting service to schools.

At my school (Maine) they would do turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy, and roasted potatoes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some days they would have fried chicken with some other sides, and then on typical days it was usually a burger or a hot dog, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, tater tots, pizza or some other form of typical American cuisine. There was always juice and chocolate milk, and you could also pick some chips or another snack if you wanted.
For the picky kids you could always have a chicken burger, and because of peanut allergies it was always sunflower seed butter, not peanut butter sandwiches, and there were not peanuts in anything. I went to a very poor school and we were still fed relatively well.
Either way my mom or dad packed my lunch everyday anyway so it didn't matter what was for lunch, I always had a panini or salad or some other type of sandwich and an apple, water or something else to drink.
Most kids brought their own lunches.
