Yes.
I went off the rails for 4 years and found that I could drink an unbelievable amount of alcohol incredibly fast. I could suck down 350ml bottles of whiskey and vodka and tequila like they were shots. Luckily I hit rock bottom and worked my way out of it.

When I was in the depths of alcoholism I could finish a 1.75 over the course of a day by myself but not by chugging it. When I started feeling shaky I would chug straight vodka or whiskey until i felt right. It’s like a heroin addict. I can’t imagine sticking needles in between my fingers and toes because all of my veins have gone flat but you do what’s necessary to get it into your system the fastest. Gagging on straight vodka didn’t bother me because I knew it would get me drunk.

I am such an alcoholic that I puked so hard that puke went up in my sinuses and I had to blow the puke out of my nose.

The burn never goes away, you just learn to ignore it and keep down the nausea.

If you want to get shitfaced, don't do shots. Don't mix the vodka with anything. Just pry the plastic spout guard off the mouth of bottle and chug it straight for as long as you can.

Shots are too much liquid to down in one gulp. More often than not I end up coughing and choking up some vodka which makes me taste it. Some with mixing it. It dilutes the taste but I still taste it. Drinking it straight gets as much vodka into my system as fast as possible, and then I chase it afterwards, which minimizes the amount of time I have to taste vodka.
