I have to say that I know two Johnson and Wales instructors, and two James Beard winners, who all 4 put in induction in their most recent bought houses and chef perferences kitchen remodels. I don't know any Michelin starred chefs personally (that I know of). But it's not about gas if your neighborhood doesn't actually have gas. Everyone with a pool or spa knows that an external tank next to your house is an utter ripoff with monthly fees, vendor connection fees and tank rental and all their other crap. I disconnected tanks at the last three houses I've known. Goodbye pool heater, goodbye instantly on fireplace and good riddance on non electric dryers and water heaters. Buh bye with that robbery and hassle. I've lived in 2 houses with neighborhood gas lines. Smelling gas permeating a neighborhood after only minor hurricanes is a big turn-off too. Gas lines only go in due to greased palms from builders when plotting major developments. Every Floridian will convert their appliances back to electric in time and stop paying that bill. And up north, your heating bill can double and triple in the winter for no good reason? FPL doesn't play those games with your electric bill.

nah coil is just flat out better than glass top, glass isn't a good material for transferring heat and is far more prone to damage, while also being pretty impossible for the average lad to repair while coils you can just pull them out and replace them should you ever actually manage to kill them and transfers the heat directly to the pan
i'm a bit curious about the german style flat top electrics as i've never gotten a chance to use them, but i imagine they take a bit longer to warm up while providing the only benefit glass tops have, which is easy cleaning
wood will always be pretty based but honestly if you cook on wood every day the novelty wears off because everything tasting a little bit like burnt wood stops being as desirable
