The main issue with covid and supply chains? People stopped eating out. So the entire restaurant supply chain was warehouses full of food they couldn't sell--what's a typical household gonna do with #10 cans of beans, or a 40lb kebab roast?--while the grocery stores got an unexpected 30-50% increase in business and couldn't keep up.
What saved us is most of the restaurant industry managed to switch to takeout/delivery very early on. But FSA and Sysco would absolutely have put those #10 cans on Safeway shelves if there was no other way to sell them.

am i wrong though? the creators of most social media platforms want the highest possible amount of people using that platform in order to get more ads and more money. To that end, they will usually restrict the rules of the platform to be more casual, politically correct and family friendly. obviously there will people who ignore these rules, but they usually aren't the majority and if the platform could outright ban them without repercussion it would
