Is steak an inherently childish food? Every time I see one, it reminds me of children flipping their shit because "vegetables are gross" or "the sauce is too hot".

Veganism is the most childish food/preference it's literally why you can get a child to refuse to eat a meal if you tell them it's made of the cute cow or pig character in their cartoons, literaly a extension of

What a shitty stupid thread. Tendies are the childish food you’re thinking of and they’re already a meme for that reason. Having said that steak is overrated old white guy boomer food. It’s never worth the price and never as good as a good hamburger (ground seasoned and mixed yourself and grilled on charcoal) for the price.

I legitimately cannot bring myself to order steak at a restaurant. It just feels like...an opportunity cost. I've got all these interesting meals sitting in front of me on the menu, and then there's steak. It's just a slab of steak. I love steak so much, but it just seems like I'm wasting something if I order it.

>> No.14833733

>>14833713
I actually sort of agree with you and I love steak. The problem is that steak is easy to make. I can make a cheaper, bigger and better steak at home than I can find at 90% of restaurants and I am at best an amateur. Sure I will order a steak at places which obviously make one much better than I do but those places are $50+ per steak by itself. I will also make an exception if they make a decent steak but have great toppings I cannot really recreate to the same quality.

I had to move to austin texas for work and moving here I thought I would see more quality cuts of meat than back home. When I've gone to the grocery (HEB here) they have the worst meat selection I've ever experienced. beef is gamey tasting no matter how you prepare it. Overpriced 'wagyu' as they term it is just fatty cuts of whatever they mark up to 40 bucks a pound.

packaged shit thats not behind the counter is awful, sometimes spoiled, and loaded with shit like unrenderable fat and cartilage to create more weight so they can charge more.

This is the worst grocery store I've ever been, and it's one of the only real chains we have access to here in this fucking town. You'd figure being in a state known for beef, you'd have more access to quality, but guess not.
