I got drunk last night and bought a honeycomb from Amazon. It just came in. How do I consume this thing? Do I straight up open it and eat it like a candy bar? Am I supposed to cook it or something?

Bee's wax is a valuable byproduct. Plus they use it over to cast into prefabricated combs for the bees to fill up again.

You're incredibly lucky you were born at this point in civilization where life has almost no real hardship at all, because if you were born even 100 years ago, you wouldn't be strong enough to survive.

There is no natural selection of our species any longer, and you, weak pathetic silhouette of humanity that you are, is the result.

If I didn't know better, I would say you're right that bees aren't exploited, but it was only a few years ago that beekeepers figured out how to harvest honey without squashing bees every time they slide the manmade honeycomb slabs in and out. Also a majority of beekeepers don't take "excess" and leave the rest. They take all of the honey, then pour in a stash of high fructose corn syrup for the bees to live on during the winter. Nutrition-wise, the bees are being fucked over and this lack of variation in diet contributes to health problems on top of the pesticide shit that's been apparently the cause of all the bee death.

I'm not a bleeding heart vegan but the way bees are treated in general isn't the best. A lot of people respect the bees but don't know how they're being taken care of. It's like saying you love your dog/cat/whatever but feed them shit pet food that just has a "PREMIUM" label on it instead of actually doing research on which foods aren't just processed garbage.
