Why are we so shitty here in the US? The sandwiches don't even taste that different except that the japanese ones have a bit more filling.

I had both. The mostly taste the same except that, as I said, the Japanese ones have more filling. Then again, I only ate them in the morning. I would think americans would be more inclined to leave shit sitting out all day.

Sandwiches from an american vending machine are absolutely vile, though.

a regular white bread and lunchmeat or mayo-salad type sandwich is already bland tier and somehow packaged ones are worse. japan has a weird modern food culture. it reminds me somewhat of the 1940s in america, its all about the product whether youre cooking for yourself or buying packaged food from the store. if its just packaged food its not about it being good as much as it is being an inticing product, or especially in japans case, something cute or aesthetically pleasing. If theyre cooking for others and entertaining, the cookware and recipe seems to always be a singlular use, tacky brand name thing to create this one popular super kawaii item. they dont appreciate food for food anymore it seems, theyre hardcore consoomers for sure.

all of the japanese 7-11 food is very different, honestly I forget it's even the same company they are so detached

it probably has to do with most 7-11 patrons in the USA being blue collar, but the ones in japan are white collar and have higher expectations

This is a very stupid thing to say. Do you think konbini are high end, or do you think everyone in Japan has a white color job?
There are so many konbini that I once went to a Family Mart directly across the street from another Family Mart. There were two 7-11s, a Family Mart, a Lawson, and a Ministop within five minutes of my apartment abs I lived in a smaller city.
They're absolutely everywhere. Even off the local Tenryu Hamanako line in the middle of fucking nowhere, there were two konbini when there were no other buisnesses around.
Absolutely everybody goes to konbini.

I guess. Unless you account for the fact their work day lasts 12-15 hours. You're kinda seeing the same in the Bay area as well if you work IT - you're only using your home to sleep at it. It's not like you're working with the same intensify as if it was regular eight hours shift or anything, but it's still not YOU time because even if you have an hour of free time you use to go to the gym, our lunch break and hour where you can slack off you still have to go back to work + after hour dinner with co-workers. I wouldn't wish Japanese work days to anyone.
