No and no. Eating other animals is what some animals do. Humans are ominvorous animals. Some animals are carnivorous. It is just a fact of life that in order to be healthy, humans must get at least some of their nutrition from animal sources. Wasting food is immoral. Killing without necessity is immoral. I don't think it's immoral right now because we do need some meat in our diets to be at optimal health. You can survive without meat but you thrive more with some. I think it's a good idea to not eat meat unless you feel like your body really needs it though, it shouldn't be something that you mindlessly eat just because it's there and you think it tastes good. If lab-grown meat ever becomes identical to the real thing then I think eating meat from a slaughtered animal would be immoral though, if there's no difference then there's no reason to kill for it.

Vegans and vegetarians are literally mentally ill.

To think a CHICKEN or a cow have the same right to "happiness" as a human being is a clear sign of sociopathy, to say the very least, and of extremely low self-esteem, for sure.

Don't trust these people.

They think your life and the life of your children is as valuable as the life of a dog or a cat.

Also, don't trust people who act like their pets are their children. They, too, are mentally unstable.

There's nothing wrong with being mentally ill or unstable, so long as you seek help. These people don't think they have a problem, though.

Chickens really can live without a head. They probably don't even know they are alive. A pig will eat you if you fall down in front of one and turn wild if let go. I saw some caffs running around and playing with each other and that did make me feel a little guilty. But then I had fajitas the next night.

in a sociopathic sense, you could say that 'being tasty to humans' is the greatest evolutionary trait that an animal could develop, as human cultivation of edible livestock has led to there being billions more cattle, chicken, and hogs than wild natural selection would have otherwise permitted.

but you could very easily make the case that this system has prioritized production-efficiency over animal-welfare to an extent that is immoral. the fact that they're being bred-for-the-edible-byproduct-of-their-death is something that could be value-neutral, depending on the quality of life the animals had in the interim. I'm not an agricultural student, I don't really know. But I've known people who have a bone-to-pick (teehee) with modern factory-farm practices who don't abstain from the meat in itself, just the products of that massproduction system. They'd eat chickens and eggs they raised themselves, but not Perdue/Tyson/etc. stuff, or some people I've known to believe that hogs and cattle are treated sufficiently humanely to justify their consumption, but abstain from poultry as they believe standard chickenfarming practices to be unjustifiably inhumane.

I don't think an animal's death for the sake of human consumption is inherently immoral, but that doesn't necessarily mean that society has organized to provide this commodity in a moral way.

Vegans are never right, about anything. It takes wealth and privilege to even get close to a vegan lifestyle, much less to do so out of some misguided sense of morality. Nature doesn't give a fuck about morality; creatures adapted to eat meat do so, creatures that aren't don't. Simple as that.

> is eating meat immoral?

Is killing a man that is about to murder you or someone you care about immoral? In this case, "morality" is merely how society will judge you, rather than the overall benefit to your well-being or survival. That is not morality to begin with. Morality is about conducting oneself in the manner it takes to survive and prosper, not about the judgement of others.

>do chicken lives matter?

They are specifically farmed to be eaten. That is why they exist to begin with. Wild chickens of the past did not reach the size they do today and eating a chicken back in the old days was considered a matter of decadence because chickens could lay eggs and produce more food than if the animal was just slaughtered for its meat. Had we not engineered them to be big and have extra layers of fat, chicken wouldn't be the "cheap" meat it is today.

Same with cows, which were selectively bred from the Aurochs to be more docile and produce more milk for human consumption. Aurochs were wild and vicious back in the day and required the whole tribe to hunt down one of them. There is a reason the bull horns were considered a symbol of power and prestige in the Bronze Age; going out to hunt one meant someone in your tribe would die, as a given.

tl;dr Vegans are retarded, don't listen to them for any kind of advice. We clawed our way to the top of the food chain, so we should eat like it. Let the rejects not eat real food if it makes them feel better about things they don't understand.

Pic related; size comparison of an Aurochs to humans.

Killing animals is a sign of psychopathy yes, but psychopathy was required back in the old days. A man who couldn't kill an animal to feed his people couldn't be expected to kill a man who is threatening the safety and welfare of his tribe. This is why it was mandatory that men learned to hunt, even once we had developed cities and social structures to render "hunting" moot. It was also a sure sign that man was a gigantic pussy if he didn't have the stomach for hunting.

At least back in the day hunting had a necessary purpose. Yes it's "evil" in the sense that it requires a human to turn on their primal instincts but, it's still necessary for our survival, just as much today as back then. The obvious problem lies in when an individual can't turn it off and predates on his own kind.

It's one of the reasons the current generation of men are gigantic faggots, they've never had to deal death nor take the responsibility of taking that life. You go out, you kill an animal and then you bring it home to feed your loved ones. Controlled, purposeful violence is required for survival and leaving that instinct un-exercised is guaranteed to create a worthless male. You can literally look into the eyes of some of these faggots and see that they've never taken a life before in their lives.

As a species we just acquired the taste for meat when we realised it is a high source of what we need to live.

We've hunted and killed animals for food for a long time.
Survival of the fittest.

We have evolved to the point where we are breeding these animals for the sole purpose of being killed for food.
People see that as immoral, but at the end of the day we farm them because if we didn't they would be extinct.

We have genetically modified the animals we farms to be the best sources of meat they can be.
That would be more immoral than the killing for food.
What do people expect? We breed them, let them roam around and then hunt them with arrows and tomahawks? That's just a low tech free range farm.

The only immoral thing about the whole process is HOW some places kill their stock.
I agree, that is something we should be working towards improving. Not just shutting down the whole industry and removing a very valuable source of food.

There are soon to be other sources of meat like crickets as they are higher in protein than cows per weight. But that's somehow less immoral? Turning a slaughter of hundreds of thousands a day into literal billions?

Veganism and even vegetarianism would require immensely larger swathes of land to be converted into farmland, and while many people on here will complain that tons of farmland currently is used to feed cattle, I am not necessarily arguing for cattle farming. Sustainable chicken farming in the average backyard is easily possible, and the manure can be used to farm other vegetables and fruits. The current system of insanely large cattle farms fueled by even larger grain farms is ridiculous when any normal field can be used for cattle farms. Alas, the US has had huge ecosystems teeming with water and living plants destroyed by dams, farming projects, and other retarded ideas that came long before this generation (see central California, Midwest and central US).
All that being said, any conventional field full of native plants and animals would have to be utterly removed to make way for fruit/vegetable farms, and this simply isn’t necessary with local animal farms. Obviously it’s regional, but the amount of land vegetarians and vegans would see plowed in the name of “saving the animals” would surely destroy much more wildlife habitat than they would like to believe. Not only this, but vegetarians/vegans typically eat processed foods, and all processed foods require factories which require more habitat destruction and more pollution. It’s clear that there’s a balance needed between nutrient dense foods that can feed the population (meat and dairy) and sustainable foods (fruits/veggies/grains/legumes), but for the most part everyone is so polarized they’re too stupid to understand any of this.

Bestiality provides no value to human society beyond getting a dude off and has the objective downside of contributing to zoonosis. Veganshits live in a delusional paradise where they can't comprehend the sheer damage to the human economy banning animal-derived products would do, rely on specious appeals to future reinventions of the wheel in order to comprehend a world without animal products, and ultimately submit to a totalitarian-esque state control of human productivity and livelihoods by the process of their quest for morality. Questions of what happens to the land stripped from farmers and ranchers without a totalitarian state to control its usage and productive modes are left unanswered by vegans every single time.

Vegans want an even more controlled command economy than North Korea. They directly believe that plunging billions of humans into utter suffering for centuries is worth the price of not having a precious cow be slaughtered.
