Who roasted your coffee? When?
If you're buying good coffee, you know this. (Roasted within the last 3 weeks is usually pretty good. 15 days is better, except for robustas, which should be minimum 6 months old - stick to arabicas. You're not there yet.)

You should grind it yourself, just a few minutes before you brew it.

Don't make the brew water too hot.
Don't make the brew water too cold.
Use enough coffee - if you skimp, the bad tasting parts of coffee come out and overwhelm the good tasting parts.

TLDR: mix equal parts brewed coffee and French Vanilla Coffeemate.

Nope. The difference is that it takes a discerning palette to taste the crazy shit that the best wines are supposed to offer. Good coffee roasted lightly and brewed by someone who knows what they're doing (or even a machine calibrated the right way) can legimately taste like blueberries and other things and be much more sweet than bitter. The first time I had coffee like that blue my fucking mind.

>> No.14636888

If it's roasted lightly you should use boiling water every single time and adjust coarseness instead of temperature. It's much easier to get it where you want with only 1 variable to change.

don't drink coffee and just drink water, coffee everyday is addictive habit and is just shit. Even if you drink in moderation you are likely to go overboard on the healthy dosage, after your second cup in the day without even noticing. Most sizes of mugs/cups have multiple servings of caffeine that you think only represents 1 cup so it's not good for your heart.

Find a local roastery. Freshly roasted is best. Ideally, grind your coffee just before preparation. Use 70g coffee per litre of water. Filtered water if possible.

For a sweeter cup, try cold brewing. Grind your coffee and put it in a jar with cold water (twice the amount of coffee than you’d use with hot water- 140g coffee per liter of water). Keep it in the fridge for 20-24 hours. Filter it. It’s going to be more concentrated, so dilute it with water or ice depending on your taste. You can keep the rest in fridge for a couple of days.

If you're really attached to the sweetness, you could try erythritol. It's an artificial sweetener that I couldn't find any health problems for unless you had an allergy to it or ate an assload of it. From what I've read, it doesn't even spike your insulin, but I'd recommend looking it up yourself (please tell me if I'm incorrect)

1) Buy decent coffee
2) Don't overheat the water. Water that's too hot is one of the things makes coffee taste shitty and bitter. The water temp you want is 195-205 F, if you're not autistic enough to sit there with a thermometer, just boil the water and let it sit for a few minutes to cool down a touch.

These are crap for someone who's trying to avoid extra work. They clog up and you need to apply a torch to them to clean out the spent grounds. Just use the normal Hario paper filters.

I also have a HARIO, but I don't use it because I have to make a careful use of Brew.
I used Melitta before, but recently I changed it to a ceramic filter.
The use period is only about one month, but no clogging has occurred.
In the first place, paper filters are out of the question because it is a comparison with French press.
