I work with a lot of high-stress Indian immigrants, and most of them have stomach ulcers or some kind of reflux. I'm not sure if it's funny or sad, but most of these guys can't eat anything with spice to it. Apparently it's a thing that once you hit your 40s, you're expected to start having stomach problems, so you enjoy the spicy things while you can.
