It is run by 2 brothers and their 75 year old mom who is the sweetest lady ever, and their pizza is probably some of the best I have had in the city (and it's cheaper than their competitors). If she ordered a cheese slice, she would have gotten one. She probably pointed at a slice which she ASSUMED was plain cheese and they gave it to her. So there was mscommunication, ok. She liked the pizza the first few bites. Ok great. Then she discovered it's actually not a cheese slice, it's a garlic slice which is very common in pizzaria's. She should have went to the counter, apologized for the inconvenience and said that she wrongly got a slice she dislikes. They would have been more than happy to accomodate her. I have two favorite reviews, both from restaurants in Orange County.

One was a nice breakfast place. This lady and her family ate breakfast there every Sunday morning for over 5 years. She compliments the food, praises the staff, and says this place is the highlight of her week. On this particular day their water cups weren't filled often enough which prompts her to write this first and only review of the restaurant. She mentions that everything else about the meal was wonderful. She vowed to never return.

There's a sandwich and beer joint I love that only sells sandwiches and beer. They'll let you bring in outside beer (as long as the bartender opens and pours it) but would kick out people who bring in french fries due to "company policy." But they don't sell french fries, only sandwiches and beer. The guys who bring in french fries are heavy drinkers and regular customers.

The outside beer is clearly lost sales and the french fries aren't. If anything, the salty french fries equals more beer sold. I don't get it. I want to understand...

I worked at a cafe, it gets some really shitty reviews. Honestly half the time it's over-rated. One guy talked shit about us on twitter about his food and it made the fucking news just because he was a minor celebrity and the place has a celebrity chefs name.

My first few weeks working there this guy walked up to the counter to say to me
"I just have to tell you, this was the worst burger I have ever eaten in my life"
He hands me a business card and finishes off with
"And, I'm a food blogger"
Then walks away all proud of himself. I checked his website and it was really pathetic. The way he talked about being a food blogger and he has this on the back of his business card

I think business owners should fire back at poor reviews; give their side of the story. Make that a disclaimer posted on the entrance, even.

Some people are really weird the way they order. Like that time the guy where I worked complained about his burger. The thing now has it's own bbc article just because a guy was upset he asked for a plain cheeseburger and got served a plain cheese burger. I like to take a certain percentage off of 5 star reviews and add some points to 1 star reviews. Then following reviews can be useful.
People tend to leave more negatives than positives though because if you just enjoyed yourself then you eat up, maybe tip, and go.
If you didn't like it then you almost want to punish them for making you suffer.
