I know that I'm a pleb, but I'm an old neckbeard that grew up with stuff like Fist of the North Star, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Record of Lodoss War, Peacock King, etc. I haven't watched anime for a very long time because a lot of the weird moe stuff doesn't appeal to me much.
