Do pickled foods count? I was thinking of buying some jars of pickled onions, pickled beetroot and pickled red cabbage.

Probiotic food and your gay yogurt do nothing. The only thing that does anything for gut bacteria are supplements.

Eating lots of fiber is more important to maintaining a healthy gut bacteria composition anyway.

Yeah they count but only if they're fermented or made with raw vinegar. If they're just pickled by putting them in a jar with white vinegar or if they've been pasteurized they're not bad for you but you won't be getting the probiotics you'd get from raw fermented food.

Once in a while I get really bad migraines and I usually have diarrhea the next day. When they won't go away I start craving fermented dairy and sauerkraut so I'm guessing eating those things regularly might help. I already got some buttermilk starter which is easy to make since it ferments at room temperature and you don't have to keep it warm like you do with yogurt, but I'm trying to find a good setup to make sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables without much hassle.

Would something like this be okay? I was looking at just getting mason jars with the glass weights and an airlock but I keep seeing a lot of people saying the weights break or get stuck.

Probiotics are a meme
Systematic reviews of the literature have never found any real benefits
The real way to go is fecal transplants

Probiotics when ingested do nothing. The fact that they do nothing is a scientific fact. No scientists ever even thought eating probiotics would do anything because your digestive system lyses living things. Eating probiotics is crystal religion tier.

I take a pre/pro biotic supp twice a week. People claim they don’t do anything but it’s cheap enough to where I don’t give a fuck and it seems to keep me shitting big and regular so I’m sticking with it. Also I haven’t had the runs or thrown up since I don’t know how long and even then it wasn’t food related I’m pretty sure I just got way too drunk.

Probiotics are just bacteria. Bacteria are what cause infections and make you sick. Probiotics will infect you and make you sick.

Yeah come to think of it my skin is better but I take a multivitamin and a collagen supp too so hard to chalk it up to just the pro biotic. As far as thinking clearer/brain fog I’m too autistic to vouch for that but I’ve always been pretty sharp mentally other than when I use to smoke pot quitting that def cleared up the brain fog. I use Dr Tobias immune pre/pro biotic there’s a few different products they offer and there’s a ton of brands. This one was highly recommended and seems to work so I’ve stuck with it. They also after a “cleanse” system which I haven’t tried but all the reviews on Amazon from people shitting their guts out are hilarious

>pretty sharp mentally
That sharpness and speed of process/though is what I feel like I lose sometimes
The collagen thing is real ? I thought it was a meme

Some say it is some say it isn’t. I got it because I trail run and hike A LOT and I’d developed some arthritis in my left foot toe box that kept me from getting /out/. It seems to be keeping my joints from being inflamed like they were before. As a bonus my hair skin and nails do seem noticeably better too. It’s 20 bucks for a tub that lasts me a month and a half maybe it’s working maybe it isn’t but at that price I’m not losing much for something that might be making a difference. Supposedly it’s good for gains when lifting weights too if that’s your thing.

They might not directly provide a benefit, but fermented food is easier to digest which can boost healthy gut flora especially if the fiber is broken down a bit.

Are you trying to say that bacteria don't cause infections? Go ahead, let's hear how you can debunk decades of medical science on germ theory.

>> No.14353747

>>14353713
Not all bacteria cause infections, some bacteria is beneficial. The average person has at least a pound of bacteria in their digestive system to help break down food, so keeping it healthy is probably a good idea.

Call your doctor and ask them about "gut biome"
If you're feeling frisky, ask them about how a fecal transplant works.
