For my way to work breakfast I shove a handful of cornflakes into my mouth, down a glass of milk, and take a tangerine for the drive.

Also, do you recommend trucking as a career? I work in a warehouse, also critical supply chain, and I would much rather be out on the road. I'm thinking about taking a course at a trucking school.

I was on overtime the last half of this week 27.75 per hour. Mycase there's some work involved getting stuff off with a pallet jack and getting stuff off with the two wheeler but sometimes could be an hour hour-and-a-half between stops where I'm sitting in the air conditioning drinking a dr. Pepper and listening to sports radio or music. Yes I advise it there in demand so that's job security and you can get good benefits I have been on my job for 1 year and I get 3 weeks paid vacation this summer also they just gave me a $250 prepaid Visa card as a thank you for working during covid-19.

For five years I did over the road and yes it's real long hours sleeping at truck stop and rest areas and it's pretty hard. Now I'm just doing a local delivery job 8 till 4 or 5 days a week never overnight or never weekends. You don't have to drive a semi you could just get a class B and drive box trucks do in local delivery in probably make pretty good money. That's what I'm doing local delivery in a box truck it pays 1875 an hour and I get to be home every night and every weekend I like it

Not OP, another trucker.
Tomorrow (monday) I need to get up at 4ish, get the truck rolling around 6, make a midwest delivery, get the truck reloaded, make a stop for a routine medical check, then proceed to Pennsylvania (900 miles) to deliver Wednesday morning, then reload and come home Thursday afternoon.

This is a light week.
Typically I leave midmorning Monday, and get back Saturday, but staying out 2-3 weeks is common for me.
Hours depend on customer schedules, but there's a federal 14 hour limit per day then a mandatory 10 hour break.>>14318443

OP is a mid 40 something retard with no one who cares about his painfully dull life as a trucker so he posts his depressing breakfast here hoping someone will give him the appreciation and attention he feels he deserves for doing a mindless job that requires no skill.

Nice looking breakfast plate.
Gotta ask... which stop?
So many of the sit-downs are closed up now; and I do like a meal on a real plate.

criticism: I like my hash browns crispier, and over easy eggs. Still better than that PFJ hot bar, though.

Im a regional operations manager for a very large fleet. Our drivers make $20-$25/hr, or about $30-$35 an hour for union. You should figure about 50-70 hrs per week. Drivers with OT end up about $60k-80k per year. OTR drivers can pull as much as $100k+. Drivers are definitely in demand and you will never be jobless. But definitely go Class A CDL and get your Hazmat endorsement. Just understand that you will always be on call and will have to get in the truck at the drop of a hat as long as your 10 hr reset is complete.

If trucks become self driving who gets out and makes the delivery? And what happens if there is an accident and hazardous material is leaking to the environment? Self driving trucks are an almost impossibility. But you would know that if you worked in the industry.
