Tipping by percentage is the most retarded shit ever. Why should the server get a bigger tip just because I ordered more expensive food (food that is marked up by at least 300% to begin with, mind you).

I always tip at a flat rate. $20 for exceptional service, $5 for average, and $0 for piss poor service.

Remember kiddos, you are not legally required to pay a tip. If the restaurant raises a fuss (they never will) or the waitress complains, you can raise a stink with the manager (I've gotten two waitresses fired this way), there's not shit they can do. The bill they give you is what you are required to pay. If the restaurant wants a tip, they can put a gratuity charge on the bill, but that's like this COVID charge restaurateurs are putting on their shit. It's annoying, and requiring a tip means people will stop going there, even though 99% of those assclowns pay the tip because they have to out of guilt anyway.

I've had to take a cab a few times due to vehicle trouble and I never tipped the driver. When I told a friend about this, he said that it's common knowledge that people are supposed to tip cab drivers on top of the fucking cab fee which isn't cheap to begin with. Our tipping culture is insane.
