Presumptuous and ignorant. The stick form became popular after a Louisiana restaurant requested 1/4 lb forms. Now it's about distribution. Four, one-quarters, is much easier to distribute. Of course retailers are not allowed to open them and sell them individually that would make the company liable any time someone got sick or something.

Butter isn't going to go rancid in the damned fridge and doesn't cost much, so no one is retarded enough to bitch about 1 lb being too much butter.

Anon, I'm sorry, but Jamesons is the Budweiser/Guinness of whiskey. Powers is the good shit, and the 12 year old is exceptional.

But sticking to butter, Kerrygold is good shit. I'd say Avenmore butter is a bit better flavour wise, but damn, Kerrygold sets the bar for what you should expect from a salted butter that you can leave refrigerated for days at time. Silky smooth.

I have heard that French butter is quite good also, if someone could confirm.
