Something came up at work and now I have to leave town for 2 weeks to go fix some retards mistake. But I just bought a case of 18 eggs yesterday and don't want them to go bad. Is there any way to freeze them? Should I separate the whites and yolks and freeze separately? Will they keep their texture when cooked?

They won't go bad in 2 weeks

Eggs keep refrigerated for about 6 weeks. If you're worried they'll rot put them in water to test. the ones that float are fucked

18 eggs are like 1.29 who cares? Ok, Ill bite. Just freeze them. One or two will crack but there will be no mess. Just use them first after thawing.

I thought they go bad in 1? Well that's good to know, thanks.

If I had time today, that would have been good.

The money doesn't matter, I don't like wasting food if I can help it. But the others are saying it takes long for them to go bad, so I'll just keep them in the fridge.

They are right and you are too, but fyi you can freeze them for future knowledge.

Cool, I may try freezing a couple anyway just in case.

Hard boil.
Deviled eggs, egg salad, whatever.
18 eggs cost what... $2 at the gas station, or $4 from the farmer for organic free range or whatever.

Sure, waste is bad, but $4.

a few will crack. Tiny little split that won't even leak. Again, just use those first.

Hard boiled only last like a week. I don't care about the money, I do t like wasting food if I can help it.

I'm thinking I may crack them into an ice cube trays or something first. You think I should mix or separate the white and yolk?

Technically you are right, that is what the egg industry reccomends. I have gone a month in-shell hard boil and they taste normal after. I never understood only a week.

Well, people do crack them into bags and freeze them after mixing. That is fine too, but the question you have to ask yourself is, how are they going to be used? I would prefer having the egg whole unless I know for certain I am going to make a omelet out of it.

Just cook them and put them in the fridge.

If you need to freeze them make them into something first and freeze them, quiche freezes well.
