2-3 hours, then microwave to kill unwanted bacteria

Leave overnight. Make sure that you keep in the fridge so it stays out of the dangerous bacteria zone.

Not OP, but I frequently let cereal get soggy them put it and the milk in a blender and drink it like a cereal flavored smoothy.

I wish
I have to let it soak at least 10 minutes to get tender and 20 is better

This. Or, if you're in a pinch, just pour boiling milk over the cereal and let sit about 1-2 hours or until full rehydrated.

depends upon desired alcohol level post fermentation

It really is. Cinnamon toast crunch is my favorite, it's like an actually good horchata. Fruity pebbles is a close second.

Wouldnt it be gritty and gay? Post a picture of these concoctions

No time at all. Eat it as fast as you can.

No, like I said I let it get soggy first. I pour about 3 parts milk with 1 part cereal, depending on which cereal, into a tall glass. I put that in the fridge for about 30mins to an hour. Once it looks soggy I put it through the blender then pour it back into the glass. It's not gritty at all and comes out to be like a thick cereal flavored milk. Sometimes I add ice cream to make it more like a milkshake.

But I'll post pictures later when I get home.
