That's still butter.

Like the other anons said, you can basically either boil/steam them or fry/grill them. The first method will result in sweeter, more tender lobster and the second method will result in more savory and textured lobster.

Always good with butter.

Not OP, but he may need help on the timings. I've also never made these but my sense is frying them would be the more tricky of the two methods but I'm not sure.

This plus lemon butter. Do both and then dip back and forth. A serve of rice on the side or some fries is great, too.

Yeah true. I usually steam mine in a basket that's already going for like 5 minutes. Don't really like them fried or grilled.

>> No.14228006

>split open along the top of the tail using shears or a knife
>splay open a bit, keeping the two halves intact
>put on hot grill
>couple minutes later, lather on some of melted butter

If your grill is hot it should cook pretty quick. It is done when it is no longer translucent. Have butter for dipping.

If you thaw them use them within a day. Lobster spoils pretty quickly. Also, they are just a vessel for melted butter, cook them any way you want. Once the shell is bright orange they done. Usually a full lobster takes 10-12 mins for the normal size steamed. Having just the tails, it might need less time cooking.

>> No.14228036

>>14227979
How long would you do, though? This can overcook easily, right? Like I say, never made them but it's that delicate shellfish and I imagine it's not a long cooking time but then you don't want to undercook either.

yea fuck boiling or steaming.. those are spiny lobster like we get here in the Florida Keys and grilling is standard

Once the basket is steamy, I put the lobster in and put a lid on for five or six minutes. I'm talking about those bamboo baskets that you may or may not have seen at some Asian restaurants.

Why do metricfags always praise their system but cook things to an odd number temp that matches up with imperial standards? Why not 55 degrees? why not 60? Its because you are retarded.

Or, you could learn to cook lobster without the help of a thermometer. Lobster isn't hard to cook, whether you boil them (don't boil lobster, man) steam them, grill them, poach them, oven cook them, it's easy.

Because those aren't the temperatures where the protein denatures or where some parasite is killed.

I have no experience with this. I know it’s not bad in practice, but I’m from Newfoundland. We like our lobsters alive as we like our baby seals dead.
