So grew up in suburban Massachusetts and have since moved and lived in various places in the US. In retrospect having had the opportunity to have tried some of the best coffee and donuts in various places in the united states, yeah dunkin really cant compare, so I totally understand where people are coming from when they don't come from an area where dunkin donuts is popular. But you gotta understand something, dunkin is so ingrained into the culture of people in the northeast. When I was growing up, EVERYBODY drinks dunkin donuts coffee. Guys before heading to a construction site, office workers before heading into the office, high schooler before going to school, college kids before heading to class, I could go on and on. Honestly I think the company is absolutely genius the way they have managed to ingrain themselves into the very foundation of New England Culture.

Even a donut is too much these days. Imagine consuming 1/3 to 1/2 of your daily intake of calories from literally one tiny dough ring. It's insane. Mass-Market chain donuts are usually like another 2 or 300 kcal worse than independent shops too somehow, not sure how that works.

Once in awhile I'll get a donut, because fuck it. But if I do, i'm not going to waste the cals on a shitty one from a chain.

I like to brew black coffee at home, and occasionally buy an iced coffee from Dunkin. Their coffee is usually pretty good, I’m not sure why others would dislike it. The only time it’s bad is when they water is down or make it too sweet
