They only had one gimmick and when other companies started to copy it they couldn't keep up. Shame tho they were one of my fave sub shops.

It was like an offbrand subway. Anyone with half a brain is going to make their own sandwiches and anyone dumb enough to buy one is jusy going to buy a cheaper subway sandwich.

>It was like an offbrand subway
it wasn't this at all, it was higher quality but more expensive, the exact opposite of what "offbrand subway" implies. Their problem is they were never competitive with Subway's walmart tier prices

Greed. A bunch of people bought franchises. They only cared about money. The owners of Quiznos had a contract agreement that they could only buy they're ingredients from a supplier that they happened to own.

The franchisees claimed the supplies were too expensive, and the owners had a monopoly. The owners made the counterargument that it was the only way they could ensure that Quiznos had quality ingredients.

Franchisees sued them. Tied them up in courts for years. Owners got fed up with all the bullshit, and came to an agreement- franchisees would buy out the owners, and then they could use whatever ingredients they wanted.

That happened, franchisees started buying the absolute shittiest ingredients for the cheapest prices. Quality went to shit. What used to be a nice steak sandwich turned to vile shit. People stopped going to quiznos because it was sub-subway tier. Franchisees went out of business.

There are actually still a few quiznos left because they kept buying from the original suppliers and kept up the high quality food.
