honestly the easiest way to lose weight is to just start any kind of exercise and calorie count. calculate your TDEE (google this).

Buy a food scale from amazon for $15 and start practicing weighing your food. This becomes really easy if you take the time and start an excel sheet (pic related) to chart your intake and make an archive of common stuff you eat. Your documentation doesn’t need to be perfect and you will quickly get an idea of what foods are calorie dense (cheese) and what isn’t at all (vegetables).

If you’ve made it this far, you can add calories burned from your 2mi walk to your daily caloric budget. Since you burned them, you can choose to replace them or leave them to further stay in caloric deficit.

Unprocessed meat.
That means no burgers/sausages/spam/bacon. You eat steak, whole chicken pieces, fish fillets etc.
And whole vegetables.
No mashing or pureeing, eat your veggies whole, or make them into a chunky soup.
Eat until you're full, your body is used to these foods and will naturally make you feel full when you've eaten enough. Your body is NOT used to processed foods and you will eat more than you need to.
Once you've done this for a few months you will feel better and likely have lost weight, then if you still need to lose more you can look into more specialized diets.

Except for all the people who say they lost weight after fixing their diets. It's sad that people try to cope so hard to avoid facing the fact that they need to change how they eat and take some personal responsibility.

More people should probably try fasting. You need to let yourself go hungry for a little while so that you learn it's something you can deal with and not have to immediately run and stuff yourself any time you feel a slight amount of hunter. I used to be overweight, I fixed my diet and got to a healthy weight, and I tried doing some 24 hour fasts. Now I only eat once or twice a day, pretty much maintain a healthy weight without having to put effort into it, and I don't feel the need to constantly snack or anything like that.

It's not impossible, and anyone can have that kind of willpower. You just have to actually want to put in the effort of doing it instead of coping by using articles by shitty journalists pandering to you by saying it's not your fault and you don't have to try and change anything.

Exercise is something everyone should be doing anyway, you feel better if you're at a normal weight on top of staying fit. But it's a lot easier to avoid overeating in the first place than it is to burn off extra calories. I went from 5'8" at 150 to 120 in about 4-5 months just by aiming to eat under 1200 kcal a day and doing 1 hour of cardio more days than not. I don't strictly count to the goal so sometimes I probably miss it and I have cheat days but it's worked. I've had to build up to the cardio of course, but just add a minute a day and you'll get there.

Also don't eat after 7PM until lunch, only coffee or tea.

I hope that "zero calories" list doesn't actually include tomatoes. They're 20 calories for 100g (6-7 small tomatoes). Sure not a lot, but I'd be able to eat a LOT of them and the calories would add up in the end.
