Frozen pizza is shit. The least shitty ones are the ones that gave up actually trying and failing to be like real pizza, and accepted being a lab born chemical monstrosity taking only the rough form of pizza, like Totino's. The most shitty ones are the ones that try the hardest, like Digiorno, where it doesn't satisfy as either real pizza or as a science experiment meant to tickle your lizard brain.

The one you make yourself. I just started making pizzas myself and its so damn easy and good. Just grab a quality stone for like $50 and a peel and you're good to go. The hardest part is getting it in the oven and you can just bitch out and use parchment paper if you're too much of a pussy to work the peel with your face in an oven. Apparantly Dr. August Oetker was a pharmacist's apprentice out of highschool but got a degree in botany for some reason? Given that it was the 1800s I presume he did it because to be respected as a scientist in that era you had to be a pioneering expert in something, anything at all. He became an expert in pollen. Darwin was coming up at about the same time and he had to become an expert in molluscs or something before people would listen to him.

Anyway Oetker is the guy who invented baking powder and some of the first boxed cake mixes.

These days you can grab a steel for even cheaper if you know any place that does laser cutting, 10 bucks if you've got a buddy and 30 bucks if you don't.

Stones break, they get stained, they're not easy to clean, and they don't radiate heat as well. The only reason to own a stone is if you actually have a 500C oven, because at extreme temperatures cooking on steel burns the bottom too fast.

Meanwhile reggio's has this uncanny buttery sogginess to it, which while it's not usually considered "desirable" in pizza, it is somehow idiosyncratically "good" in my own personal estimation. That's a shame, because they've been slowly cutting costs as the years go by. First they stopped putting seasoning on their pizzas (you old fags remember this) and then they stopped making them round so they could put them in plastic bags instead of paying for plastic AND cardboard. I'm disappointed Totino's has fallen so far.

These are only good if you're buying a ton of them for a party full of stoned people.

Jack's is the tops for me, it's cheap, crispy, a pretty good sauce. Only real drawback is they seem to skimp on cheese, so I keep a big bag of shredded mozzarella in my freezer to compensate. Recently picked up some Palermo's at the same price point since the store near me only had plain cheese Jack's, and while the sauce isn't as good, they at least had decent cheese coverage throughout.

Tony's pizza is all I could find thanks to Chinese flu hoarders, and it wasn't bad for the price. It was simple yet enjoyable.

They removed the metal disc so the microwaved version must be an even shittier experience.

I haven't had one in like 10 years, though. I'm thinking of running to 7-11 and grabbing a few for me to cook in the oven.
