toast is good, but it is simply a conveyance for butter, jam, peanut butter, honey, etc.
those who think otherwise have got their heads in the clouds

If I'm offered toast and the only spread is butter, I much prefer it dry.

What the fuck kind of sandwiches are you eating that you see a sandwich on that plate?
Do you think this is also a sandwich?

I suppose since that's three slices it could technically be a poorly constructed toast sandwich, that's true. But the other one certainly isn't.

I like toasted bread with nothing on it

american detected

if you can't enjoy your toasted bread by itself, you're eating shitty bread

looks nice, except the eggs seem a little burned.

just plain butter on toast isn't that great though, unless the butter is cultured and already a little sour maybe, need a little acidity to balance that which is why a lot of people like butter and jam.

Poor you, I can see you've never had food-grade bread. You're American I'm guessing.

So you've never made a sandwich with meat, cheese, and toast?
Or had a burger on toast when you couldn't be assed to buy buns in advance?
You never just had a plain unfuckedwith slice of toast with your breakfast?
You never tried the toast sandwich meme out of curiosity?

I'd like to propose a toast to toast. Crunchy bread rulez!

Same, the egg is usually already covered in a light layer of oil and that plus the yolk and grease from the meat is usually rich enough on its own. A few pieces of dry toast is perfect for mopping up. I do like jam though.
