>have to cook big meal for mother's day
>do it on my father's request (restaurants are closed so I'm his only option and I did it last year)
>he always bitches about it when I do
>he only eats at restaurants so he expects things at restaurants to be like at home
>he hates properly cooked meat and insists I don't do a good job while everyone else raves
>microwaved a hamburger because it was pink
>insists every meal has to have a salad and dessert
>expects multiple options of every thing like restaurants do (cooked only white rice and asked where the brown was)

What is something simple I can make to feed 6 adults?
Things I have made for big groups:
Green curry
Homemade spring rolls
Homemade naan
Bratwurst
Hamburgers
Pork chops with homemade barbeque sauce
Russian honey cake
Lomo saltado

That might be it. I usually just cook for two every day. I'm only worried about my pleb father. Everyone else loves my food.

I made him a pizza with every ingredient he wanted, and he still complained about the crust thickness. It was a thin crust pizza (he claims to like thin crust mind you) and it was TOO THIN.

No. It just makes me angry when everyone else is enjoying their food and my dad just huffs and puffs because it isn't what he is used to. I'm not kidding when I say he only eats out. He only drinks coffee from big chains, eats fast food, and sit down piece of shit restaurants. I can't please him. I just want ideas of something that feeds a lot and can please plebs and people who care about food.

Then fuck him, if you can't please him no matter how hard you try then why give a fuck about his antics. Let him bitch and moan while everyone else enjoys their food

I never thought of it, but it would explain a lot.
>>14021334
I hate the feeling, man. I would be fine with "it was ok", but I just see disappointment. He only likes my desserts. It's like when SpongeBob had to cook for Sea Bass. No pickles.

You're an adult now. Surely you're big enough to take on your old man by now. He'll never respect you and you'll never respect yourself until you knock him down flat on his back. It's part of growing up.

you're being taught to be a people pleaser, stop giving a fuck about what he thinks if everyone else enjoys your food. Make something you know your Mother would enjoy, it's her day, not his

>> No.14021402

Why the fuck are you trying to please someone that can't be pleased. Focus on the ones that appreciate your work, pamper them if you have to. If he complains, shrug & ignore. If he asks for options, tell him he can cook those himself.

Stand up for yourself and your cooking, my dude.

He wants you to stick up for yourself. Tell him to eat shit.

Or alternatively he never wants you to win, one of those types that will never give praise or credit where it's due for some retarded reason or another

I feel like this issue is getting at some kind of greater problem in the dynamic between you and your father that is all on him

Yeah, it could be this too. Regardless, telling him to eat shit is still an appropriate response in either situation. I couldn't imagine having a dad with the palate of a spoiled 10 year old boy.

The answer is yes. If he gives you lip about your cooking, tell him like an adult that he doesn't have to eat it if he doesn't want to, and that he is welcome to make his own food instead of eating yours. Because what you made is what's for dinner, and that's that.

Reverse the father/son power balance on him.

Tell him that too when you talk to him. Were there any moments where he or your mother talked down at you for being an ungrateful git when it comes to food? Quote that. Remind them of that.
