Where were you when you realised these were the best instant ramen?

They're not though? The gook stuff is definitely better than most of the shitty chink brands, but shin ramyun is basically kroger-brand shit in korea.

I've eaten a lot of spicy things in my life, but the flavor powder they use for this ramen makes it essentially inedible.. It's overwhelmingly peppery, and spicy. Basically scorching your asshole after eating this stuff. My kidneys scream out in agony as I can feel the kidney stones forming in real time after eating this shit. You guys use your own flavoring or broth with this? Because I just don't see the appeal..

Pic related is a pretty decent standard ramen. The beef variant isn't bad either. You guys have any other recommended brands to try?

>> No.13957608

The hot one is? Are you fucking crazy? Like i'm not some masochist that needs to eat inferno wings or collect some hot sauce collection, but fuck me it literally dominates the entire flavor of the bowl of ramen, and tastes like fire ass. I don't know if there's like a "normal" variant or what, but it tastes like what I imagine vomit from a drunk person who just downed 5 volcano tacos, and half a liter of vinegar would be like.

The noodles themselves are fine, but it's noodles, hard to fuck that up.

I eat those all the time, they're basically cheaper off-brand products from their main line. In fact, basically every ramen designed for a microwave is inherently shit due to having to fuck the noodles to cook in tepid water. How can you people go on the cooking board and eat food all the time, yet have objectively wrong taste?.

My favorite ramen was this, shio ramen from sapporo ichiban. Essentially a standard chicken noodle broth that came with sesame seeds. Flavour aas so strong I'd always water it down with 5-6 cups of water instead of the required 4, and have a broth feast. They don't sell it here anymore unfortunately. Sometimes I make lipton dried chicken noodle and put ramen in it for a similar dining experience.

I live in koreatown and my local shops are full of hundreds of unique brands of instant ramen, Shin Ramyun is fine, among the better offerings, but normies and americans don't even know there are like 4 varieties of this specific instant ramen. In short, yes, it's probably the best you can find at your local gas station or walmart, but it's nothign special in the world of instant noodles.

Ramens are nice but the meat there is dogshit. Out of all ramens I ate, there was just a single case of me trying the meat and actually liking the taste - even to the point where I wouldn't see paying extra for more of that meat dumb. Usually, I just hope it's inoffensive.
Also, many non-speciality places use those disappointing noodles that aren't exactly "bad" but essentially are about instant-ramen tier if not worse.

Meh the prep takes about 7 minutes, not a lot of work at all. Ramen is super cheap so it makes for a filling and relatively healthy lunch. Worst thing about it is the sodium but I drink more than enough water. I will often throw in meat too if I have some rotisserie chicken in the fridge.

Forgot to say I saute the veggies in a little bit of butter (really tiny) at the very beggining, with the soy sauce. Add the turmeric, dried parsley, black pepper, and lemon juice. Then I add the water and let it come to a boil. So it does take a few more steps but all told its like what, 10-15 minutes? No big deal at all and its delicious.
