Molasses is literally sugar. It's the base of any BBQ sauce and it's sugar.

BBQ sauce has never NOT been sugar you stupid cuck. The only thing being perverted is your bubble view of the world.

Stubb's is only like 15% sugar and gets criticized for not being sweet enough. It uses tomato as the base, and you can actually taste some spices in it.

You also have mustard and vinegar sauces used in some regions that aren't sweet.

A1 is delicious and complex but everyone is scared to use it because chefs/cooks made it a no-no to use steak sauce. I'll always taste and appreciate the flavor and cook of a steak straight up as I eat it, but you are a fool to say that it isn't delicious to have some bites of your steak with A1.

Mustard sauces are #1. There's a place in South Carolina called hog heaven that makes their own sauces and that mustard sauce is the best sauce in the fucking world. I have a liter of it sitting in my fridge.

As a practical matter, when cooking for a pleb crowd, a bottle of this stuff added to a sauteed onion and lots of garlic, cut with a cup or so of chicken stock, then reduced for 30 min is quite the crowd pleaser. Last year was a friend’s significant birthday year and I cooked BBQ in a park (really I roasted a huge pork shoulder the day before and reheated it at the park) and I was astonished how quickly my “homemade” sauce went. Also had a NC vinegar pepper mustard sauce that went well too but the Sweet Baby Ray’s one was the favorite. Keep in mind this was a highly pleb crowd, though.
