What throws me off for alot of vegan meals would be taste, texture and the overall look of them. Its very rare but finding meals that look presentable, taste good and have a fine texture that dosent feel like dry mothball or muted slime. Personally what gets me coming back to meat is all three of those things, and its weirdly satisfying. Other problem is nearly every vegan ive found, while having the right spirit in finding absolute disgust in corrupt factory farming and humane treatment of animals tend to go straight into fucking crazy town. Just all the other people finding it to be just tireing and givin' vegans shit for it with meat-posts.

There's lots of carnie food I like to make with substitutes but I guess it would pointless to say in this thread if it's just regular cuisine.

>nut cutlet (we can get them in burger shapes in the UK) in a roll with salad, hummus and buffalo hot sauce
>tomato and basil pasta
>hot chickpea wrap with salad (sauté the chickpeas with garlic powder, salt and buffalo sauce), you can make a dressing for it with hummus and lemon juice
>chickpeas curry with fresh coriander (also nice in a wrap)
>beans on toast (great with cheese if you have a substitute)
>fried rice with onions, peppers, chickpeas, hot sauce, paprika, garlic, lemon juice and soy sauce (black salt can give it an eggy flavour)
>chips (by which I mean fries, only chunkier) with ketchup if I'm feeling classy, salt and vinegar too

Where I say salad, I usually use lettuce, red onion and tomato.

Nut cutlets are dry as all fuck and not enjoyable to eat. There's better vegetable style burgers and veggie fingers, which are like fish fingers but with sweet corn, peas and mash potatoes inside. They're great tasting if you're a veggie or not.

Quorn do pretty good meat alternatives now. They're not as good as the real thing but they feel meaty to eat. Using quorn in curries or pies gets you decent results. It can be a bit dry but that's because it absorbs liquid so well. In curries and pies that just absorbs the gravy or sauce.

Chick peas are terrible food. Butter beans are God tier.
