I remember the caramel and milk chocolate bars always sold out quick and people would begrudgingly buy the other two, no idea why they didn't just make the boxes all caramel and milk

I never understood this shit I don't really like chocolate and those chocolate bars are also kind of big. why didn't they ever try to do other stuff for fund raisers? my confirmation class paid for our trips by doing community service and got business owners to donate the funds for someone's trips. we cleaned up a community center, cleared out a lot beside a grocery store, cleaned up some highways and stuff. it was pretty easy. selling chocolate is just terrible. imagine how much chocolate you have to get people to buy/eat just to fund something fairly cheap

>> No.13880506

we just had regular Hershey chocolates in the fundraiser package

I remember the caramel was super runny. I'd never seen it like that in any other candy bar.

Yes they do. I occasionally buy some from my co-worker's spawn.

In my area we get black kids that get dropped off in front of grocery stores and sell regular candy bars for $2 each. The very same candy bars you can buy inside for much less. Good natured old people often buy from these chocolate kids.

They're mass marketed, and convenient.

You just contact the company, they set everything up, you give your students the forms, they do the leg work, get their shit paid for, and you don't have to do basically anything (as a teacher anyway)

We did chocolate sales for our orchestra end of year trip to Hershey Park (Music in the Parks has been a music program since the 1980s)

You sell the bars at an extremely high markup, as the person buying the bar isn't necessarily just trying to buy chocolate, it's specifically for fundraising. When the kids in my neighborhood are selling anything to raise money, I always buy it even if I don't need/really want the product, because I want to help them go on a trip, not because I want that specific chocolate for that price.

it's a dollar each. even if it just costs $500 per student to go on some away trip for a week, that's thousands and thousands of bars of chocolate
