Saffron is great!
It's mega expensive because it has to be hand picked right now.
Try swedish saffron buns(lussebulle/lussekatt), or Gottlandspannkaka (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saffranspannkaka))
But i do prefer my saffron in desserts, mostly because it is expensive, and the sugers and fat bring out the flavour so you can savor it instead of it being one of many spices in a main dish.
