I worked Postmates in 2014/5 when they were getting of the ground in NYC. Interesting experience picking up food for the rich. Learned about a lot of restaurants and got to see how the other half lived. The shitty thing was that most of the hour was spent waiting for the food. Best story was biking onto a live set and forcing them to stop filming. The place I was supposed to pick up from had rented the place out to film a TV pilot - 1960s-era cop drama. Pretty sure the pilot never got picked up.

Actually haven't really encountered much rudeness from restaurant or customer for the year I've done it.

But things are bad right now, more people are doing these apps because they're out of work and at the same time more restaurants are closed. I could not get any blocks at all on Grubhub this morning besides Friday night.

not sure how it's the worst for that, ubereats delays sending the order to the driver so they hopefully dont have to wait long. I'd say for half the restaurants it's ready upon arrival. Grubhub doesnt do that at all so for me I do ubereats while waiting for the grubhub orders to get done.

ordered a milkshake from a place like 10 15 minutes from me and instead of doing the intelligent thing and just delivering it to me right then and there he chose to pick up an order like 20 minutes away deliver it to another person another 20 minutes away and get around to me like 25 minutes later and by that time I was pissed and not even in the mood for it and it was all gritty and thin. Fuck that guy, I was beyond fucking pissed,

the app is retarded for drivers sometimes and gives you double/triple orders in crazy different directions and if you're a retarded driver you don't notice until you have both orders picked up.
