Do you think that bison cow enjoys being called "meat"? He is a living, feeling, nurturing mammal, essentially a big dog. You wouldn't consider your dog or cat "meat".

Sure I would. All animals, humans included are meat.

Are you trying to ask why we don't eat them? Simple: dogs and cats are more useful doing various jobs than they are food, and they are uneconomical to raise for food.

Eat the cow. Let the kitty deal with the mice. Terriers kill rats, hounds locate game, sheepdogs mind the livestock, guard dogs mind the household, etc.
