Nobody for potatoes? French fries, shoestrings, chips, steak fries, jojos, home fries, waffle fries, potato wedges, potato logs, croquettes, fried potato dumplings. Will it be shallow fried, deep fried, or pressure fried? Unseasoned, seasoned, or breaded? So many possibilities and you don't really get that much versatility from anything else.

The best tasting fried thing I ever had hands down was lobster tail. Oh GHOWD! The fried clam bellies at Champlains in Point Judith are second to that.
