Try adding vinegar or lemon, or something else that's acidic. Makes almost any vegetable taste a lot better.

This is why parents should never feed their children garbage everyday. You’re never really gonna shake this off. Maybe start with raw carrots or celery?

I fucking hate those most of any vegetables, lettuce i can stomach, but the planty taste is the worst with those two. Taste like dirty water

Do you drink a lot of soda or eat anything sugary often? That can mess up your taste buds and the subtle sweetness of the vegetables just turns into that dirty water taste for some people.

I don’t love the taste of raw carrots either, but I eat them because it’s a cheap and easy snack that won’t make my stomach hurt.

try better vegetables. There are ways to make vegetables taste good (brussel sprouts burnt to hell and with a bit of honey, honey garlic carrots, garlic sauteed spinach). I can't really eat veggies raw tho

Start weaning yourself off cheese. I fucking love baby spinach plain. I can eat it by itself with just some water to wash it down. Baby steps, dude.
Also learn to steam vegetables. Steamed broccoli with a little bit of butter on it is fucking amazing, and asparagus is as well.

>> No.13687600

One thing I do that's kinda lazy is I cook potatoes and eggs together (cook potato first then add eggs)and drop in vegtables like a pleb. Spinach works best for this if you don't mind the texture.

You don't like veggies, you just like cheese. If you want to start eating veggies, you actually have to saute and season them

slowly reduce the amount of cheese you use, maybe slowly adding salt, vinegar or pepper, when you get to the point where theres no cheese on the veges just force yourself to have them, even if you don't like them. You'll eventually actually like the taste of vegetables.

find better veggie recipes desu

tonight my dinner was:

blanched broccoli w/ sesame oil (boil broccoli very hard in very salty water for 2-3 min, with some sesame oil in the water and then a tiny bit to dress it) with sesame seeds on top

Fried baby bok choy (aka Shanghai Tip Bok Choy) (cut and washed, stir fried in a pan with a lil oil, then made to sit in a imitation chicken MSG laced broth to absorb some yumminess, eaten as a soup)

Agedashi Tofu, Tofu lightly coated in potato starch and then lightly deep fried, then placed to sit in a shallow kombu dashi + soy sauce mixture, topped with minced scallions and shichimi togarashi, grated ginger and grated daikon radish

and lastly but not leastly, ...fuck i forgot what else there was, but it was a green vegetable and it was good. that was my entire dinner and I feel full and satiated and I'm slightly overweight

Point is, OP, find japanese vegetable side dishes. they're supposed to be accompanied by a protein like fish/meat dish and white rice but idc was tired

Don't google 'japanese food' though on an english search engine, you'll just get 35 year old married white womens interpretation of vaguely 'asian' cuisine. If you want the real deal, google translate what you want to cook, put it into cookpad (make sure you're on cookpad's japanese site, not US), then translate the page back.

It's a lot of work but its worth

>> No.13687714

also OP, just think of it like this. Just romanticize the cleanliness and natural beauty of a vegetable while you're eating it. The fact that it's unobscured, raw, nutritious food that grew out of this earth. I can't really explain what I mean by it, but something about vegetables just feels simple, holy, and clean to me. They were literally designed to be eaten.

Then realize that over farming has continually reduced the nutritional content while the plant is sprayed with who knows what at every stage to maximize the yield/ kill everything else. I often wonder how much more nutritious fruits and veggies were to our grandparents, and their grandparents.

Proper seasoning, mostly salt and pepper. Sautee or at least wilt the veg if it's hardy enough.
>>13685412
This, also garlic, ginger, and fresh herbs

Depending on what you're cooking for yourself, veg can be very easy to incorporate into your favorite meals. Eggs, Sandwiches, pasta, Pizza etc.

You can make hundreds if not thousands of different recipes with just a small handfull of veg;
Potato, onion (green and white or yellow), tomato, mushroom, and your classic mirepoix, celery onion and carrot. I try to have all of these on hand all the time, and honorable mentions go to peppers broccoli, spinach, sprouts and cabbage.
Most of these should be fresh but you can work with preserved tomatoes or mushroom

Anon the only way you're going to get healthy and develop a taste for veg is if you or your woman cook for you every day. If you don't have a woman yet becoming a better cook will be a good step towards securing one.

Maybe add a bit of shredded fruit like apple or mango so it tastes sweet
